Update On Proactiveness From Gaming

Interesting what games can do

Here is an update on gaming this week.

There was a difference playing video games in place of passive entertainment during my leisure. Two things happened. I started Doki Doki Literature Club. I am taking it nice and slow. I’m getting to see the inspiration of the developer. He was kind of addressing depression and manipulation in a creative way. A good learning experience. I’ve decided to play this one only on weekends. The different paths are not that obvious. That’s good.

For Red Dead Redemption, the open world choice paid off. The game doesn’t force me to do things. I do my own thing how I want, whenever I want. It’s great. For this game, giving it a fixed time would be more productive, else many hours will go into it. We don’t want that. Another good sign to stop during a session is when I shift from exploratory to intensity. My goal is not to beat the game, but enjoy it. This can serve as a daily treat.

For Twilight Observer, I’ve finished the game. It was like ‘mafia’ game, where there are killers, civilians, guardian, and vigilante. And it all runs in a timeloop. I got one bad ending, one neutral ending and one happy ending. In the beginning, you’d really need to think outside the box to determine the killer and whom to trust. After the 1st timeloop, I found the pattern and correctly killed the killers in a row. It was fun, but it was too easy if I should rank it.

Now that that is sorted. We can close the chapter on this.
